Buttermilk Syrup

Recommended with Gingerbread Waffles, but it is great on any pancake, waffle or french toast.
Buttermilk syrup
½ c. butter, or margarine 
½ c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. corn syrup

Boil and stir until sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and stir in:
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Syrup will be thin, it thickens as it cools.  Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
