Mary's Bread Sticks

I am only acquainted with Mary through these bread sticks, but Wow! They are something!  Easy and fast, I use them to accompany dinner a lot.  I double this and bake it in my 12 x 17 inch pan. The recipe was shared by my friend Rose.

Mary’s Bread Sticks

1 c. hot water
2 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. yeast
2-2 ¼ c. flour
½ tsp. salt
¼ c. butter

Garlic powder, onion powder, parmesan cheese

Place ½ the flour, sugar, yeast and salt in the bowl of a mixer. Add water and mix until smooth. Add remaining flour and knead until smooth and elastic. Pat into 8 x 12 rectangle on greased pan. Spread with soft butter, sprinkle with garlic and onion powders and parmesan cheese. Cut into strips and let rise a few minutes. Bake @ 375 for 20 min.
