Ranger Cookies

This makes a nice, big batch of cookies.  They are a favorite for taking on road trips. I love the crunch from the cereal.
Ranger Cookies

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. rice krispies or corn flakes
1 c. nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips

Cream the sugar and shortening together, add the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Then stir in other ingredients. Bake 10 min. at 350. Do not overcook. Take out when doughy looking.

Notes:  I use rice krispies, and chocolate chips and raisins in this. You can also substitute 2/3 c. oil for the shortening.
