Pan Bread

This recipe comes from my sister in law, Diane.  It is great as a side for soups or casseroles! Take it to a potluck and watch it disappear!

Pan Bread

1 Tbsp. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
4 c. flour
2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Topping: 1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1/4-1/2 c. melted butter

In a mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine yeast, sugar, flour and salt and cheese. Add 2 c. water and mix to form dough. Let rise 30 min. Press into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Spread ¼ to ½ c. melted butter over the top and sprinkle with ½ package dry onion soup mix. (or you can top with seasoning of your choice.) Bake at 375 for 25 min. Yummiest served warm.
